Born in the West Virginia hills

Born here. Blended here.

Holler & Hush began with a simple idea: the ordinary parts of our days are the times worth slowing down with grounding rituals.

We make small-batch loose leaf teas in West Virginia, blending familiar ingredients into cups meant for slow mornings, afternoon pauses, kitchen-table conversations, and the quiet moments you manage to carve out for yourself.

This is home.
Our blends are inspired by the place we call home: mist settling between the hills, dirt roads and coal seams, gardens and porches, changing seasons, and the particular beauty you you find when you stop long enough to notice.

In fact, the misty hills you see on our home page aren't stock photography. That's the view from our front yard. It's where Holler & Hush lives, works, and gets its name.

Small batches. Purposeful ingredients.

Every Holler & Hush tea is blended by hand in small batches. We choose ingredients that intentionally work together in the cup, balancing flavor, aroma, texture, and most importantly, the impact they make on your ordinary day.

Some blends are bold and familiar. Others are quiet and botanical. Some only stick around for a season. But they're all crafted to be genuinely good tea that add meaningful beauty to your routine.

Ritual goods for ordinary days.
That's the heart of Holler & Hush.

Nothing elaborate required. A kettle. A favorite cup. Five minutes while the tea steeps.

Sometimes that's enough.

About Our Founder

Holler & Hush began during a season when life was anything but quiet.

I was caring for both my husband and my mother (at the same time) through very difficult, seemingly unending cancer journeys. I was running on stress, grief, very little rest, and more than a pot of coffee a day, just trying to keep moving. Eventually, my nervous system made it abundantly clear that this was not a sustainable lifestyle.

So I switched to tea.

Not grocery-store tea bags, but loose leaf tea: something I could slow down with, brew deliberately, and actually enjoy a quiet moment of peace in the midst of days that seemed endless. I quickly fell in love with those moments. The tea was more than tasty, it was my respite in a time of chaos. I also quickly discovered that quality loose leaf tea was surprisingly difficult to find locally.

Somewhere in the middle of caregiving, grieving (we ultimately lost my mom to her cancer battle), cups of tea, a whole lot of uncertainty, and countless desperate prayers, an idea began to take root.

I saw a need. Then I started dreaming.

I spent months learning, planning, sourcing ingredients, and developing my own blends, building the beginnings of Holler & Hush while waiting for life to give us enough breathing room to do something with it.

When my husband's health finally became stable enough for me to launch, I did.

Holler & Hush grew from an impossibly difficult season, but it isn't about that season. It's about what I found in the middle of it: the value of small rituals, ordinary comforts, and taking a few minutes to just be still.

I hope every jar also offers you the unencumbered joy and peace of quiet moments, no matter how fleeting they might be.
